Surgery Closure 31st March 2020

It is with regret that we must advise you that Ravenbank Surgery will permanently close 31st March 2020.

Patients that live within the practice boundary will be allocated a new doctor by HSCB. If you live outside the boundary, you will need to locate a new doctor yourself.

Patient care will continue until 31st March 2020.

Pregnancy Self Referral

Once you have a positive pregnancy test, you can now refer yourself to the Mater or Royal Jubilee Maternity hospitals, without the need for a GP appointment. Follow the link below for instructions.

Cervical Screening Test

A new video that shows women what to expect when they attend for cervical screening has been produced by the Public Health Agency. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening

There is a screening service available for all men aged over 65yrs to detect AAA.  This is a swelling of the main artery which runs down the centre of the abdomen.  If the swelling ruptures it a very serious and life threatening event.  The screening precess involves a simple Ultrasound Scan of the abdomen.

Flu Clinics

The influenza vaccine is currently available for all patients over the age of 65 and patients who have a chronic ongoing medical condition. We are also immunising all 2-4 year old children.

Please make an appointment with the receptionist to have the vaccine.

Please note that due to significant supply issues this year, the surgery will be contacting all patients over age 65 to offer appointments, when stock is available

Telephone Triage

The Surgery offers telephone triage.

  • We can take a telephone number from you and get a doctor to call you back on the same day.
  • Reception staff have to ask you a few questions to ascertain the nature of the problem to help the doctor prioritise calls.
  • This might be of use to you if you feel that your problem can be dealt with over the phone and without seeing a doctor face to face.
  • The doctor will decide with you whether you need to be seen and if so will make arrangements to do so
  • It will not always to speak to the doctor of your choice on a given day.
